Liuhebafa

Liuhebafa translates into Six Harmonies, Eight Methods and is commonly referred to as Water Boxing. It is a unique Internal Kung Fu style that incorporates Tai Chi, Baguazhang, and Xing Yi.

Taught Wednesday afternoons from 1 - 2:15 by Sifu Mark Small

Originally called Xin Yi Liu He Quan [Heart Mind Six Harmonies Boxing], the Six Harmonies refer to the Three Internal Harmonies (the heart or desire harmonizes with the intent; the intent harmonizes with the Qi or vital energy; the Qi harmonizes with the physical strength). The Three External Harmonies (the shoulders harmonize [coordinate] with the hips; the elbows harmonize with the knees; the hands harmonize with the feet). No experience is necessary. Hand outs and supplementary exercises will accompany instruction in the Five Elements. CHOPPING or Splitting (Pi Chuan, metal), CRUSHING (Beng Chuan, wood), DRILLING (Tsuan Chuan, water), EXPLODING or Pounding (Pao Chuan, fire), and CROSSING (Heng Chuan, earth). Also the animal forms of 1). Tiger based on the Fire element. 2. Eagle/ Bear based on the Earth element. 3. Horse based on the Fire element. 4. Snake based on the Water and Fire elements. 5. Dragon based on the Metal element. The goal is to develop a palpable feeling tone associated with your expression of internal energy in this oldest of Chinese internal martial arts.
